Defining relationships, this is by far one of the challenges an average student faces in school. Right from the pri-primary stage, they have been introduced to some students that became friends unlike the university stage where one would need to choose who stays and leaves, thereby defining relationship.
In as much as seriousness is vital, the need for healthy relationships matter too because connection rules the world. It is very necessary to keep yourself in check because of course, the opposite gender lurks around the corner.
HOW TO KEEP HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS.
Keeping healthy relationships is far more than the "his" and "hellos" we say to each other, it has to do with constant communication and care. We have introverts and extroverts in the school environment, people that prefers to stay on the low and the outgoing type. There is every need to know the strength a d weaknesses of your friends so as to enhance respect.
1. CONSTANT COMMUNICATION.
It is very necessary to keep in contact with people. There is always one challenge or tbe other that can lead to depression that every student might go through; knowing fully well of the behaviors of friends is key to unlocking some vital information they might hide. Make sure to always lift negative moods off your fellow friends because some might dwell in negativity and whatsoever that may be cause may affect you in the sense that your inability to reach out could cause you to feel guilty for the rest of your days in the school.
2. RESPECT.
Respect everyone's space, even friends. We have four types of temperament: choleric (the hot tempered people), phlegmatic (people that hardly gets angry), sanguine (jovial and playful type of people) and melancholic (the moody and isolated kind of individual). Knowing everyone's temperament would give you a guide on how to relate with them as well as the boundary not to cross when dealing with them.
3. BE A GIVER.
Givers never lack. If you have in excess and your neighbor or friend doesn't, there is no crime in sharing. Be a giver in all you do, a giver when it comes to commodities, money and even knowledge. Nobody likes a stingy person. Going out of your way for a friend brings a connection so strong between you guys that even after school days, they'll still be a good and strong relationship.
DEALING WITH LOVE - THE RELATIONSHIP WITH THE OPPOSITE GENDER.
A time would come when you start developing feelings for the opposite gender. We have different shades of beauties amongst males and females and of course, you might or probably will be drawn to your kind of person. But you should know a degree comes first before a relationship.
Becoming friends is actually the first and best step to make, define your relationship by stating the dos and don'ts associated with being lovers when the time comes. Do not jeopardize your academic life for anything. You do not come to the school just to get a degree but to have standard relationships and connections, knowing this, you should always make sure to draw a line and not trespass.
We have many temptations in the school environment, activities that can make you want to defy your morals with the opposite sex, this is when maturity comes into play, be matured enough to shy away. Get someone like you, a like mind and you wouldn't have issues in dealing with these challenges.
Your relationship with your lecturers and reading partners should be solid and not be exchanged for pleasure whilst the one with the one you love should be cheesy in a matured and disciplined way.
