SECURITY IN NIGERIA SCHOOL.

Security is very compulsory, it is one of the benefits of students in the school. The feeling of being secured takes all worries away. The school is set up in a way that they are security personnel situated in all areas ensuring and eradicating threats. It is very essential to obey the rules and regulations set up by this security personnel to ensure the smooth run of their activities. 1. All security personnel are friendly to students. 2. They help in locating hidden buildings in the school, giving directions to newbies. 3. Always at alert in case of emergencies. 4. Very swift and smart. 5. They are mostly on uniforms. 6. They do not spike unnecessary fear in students with their ammunition. 7. They maintain peace and order. 8. Their first priority is to protect the students at all time. 9. Very submissive to their bosses. 10. They do not in any way use their position to abuse anyone’s right or intimidate anyone. ...

EDUCATION IN A DIFFERENT LIGHT IN NIGERIA.

Schooling is very demanding and sometimes, the factors that come with me are not favorable. Nigeria is a country where the minimum wage is pegged at the sum of thirty thousand naira and little or no school have their tuition pegged around this amount. Most tertiary institutions if not all have tuition fees above the minimum wage.    It is therefore worthy to note that not everybody can afford education safe for those who earn well above the minimum wage. Some parents struggle to see their ward through the tertiary institutions despite the fact that most available institutions which are government owned have subsidized tuition, it is still very difficult for a class of persons to afford the cost of going to school. Some persons who fall into this category are orphans, those whose parents are unemployed or artisans and in a few cases government workers.    Besides the cost of tuition, another hurdle is the cost of feeding, hostel accommodation and stationery. Ma...

WASTE RECYCLING IN NIGERIA INSTITUTION

Environmental pollution is a perennial problem to man. The culture of having to dispose waste properly in such a way that it is less or not harmful to the society is a practice that have really come a long way. However, over time disposing of waste, both organic and inorganic in one way or the other pose threat to man’s existence as non biodegradable waste such as plastic, glass, metal, tires, textile, batteries, electronics and paper do not decompose but remain in their physical form and pose huge threat of pollution to both land and aquatic habitats.         Hence, the idea of recycling was introduced. Recycling is the collection of already used component materials for break down and reuse. Recycling starts with the proper collection of the waste. Most times, the waste are collected in separate bins or packages. For example plastic waste are collected differently from paper waste and in other cases were they are collected together, t...

BUSINESSES IN NIGERIA SCHOOL AS A STUDENT

Students deserve a mighty kudos. We have several business owners in school that are students. From having restaurants to cyber cafes, the zeal to make legit money amongst students is second to none. Businesses has helped a lot in eradicating financial challenges as well as providing services and commodities to the school environment. The ability to own a business and run it so well despite the days of losses is highly commendable. 1. SELF EMPLOYED STUDENTS.    We have students that are self employed. Students that uses their talents to make a living irrespective of their tight schedule. We have businesses like shoe making, bakery, online market, photography, etc. This has made the school community productive as it enhances the drive to make money and make other students feel obliged to own a business. One of the benefits of this kind of business is that you can decide what to do and when to do it without any dictation from anyone making you have freewill over an...

COURSES OFFERED IN HIGHER INSTITUTIONS IN NIGERIA.

When in secondary school, different departments are introduced: arts, science, and commercial. English Language and Mathematics are necessary subjects all departments must study and pass to be able to qualify for any examination. The departments determine what course students can apply for and you must have at least a 5 credit pass in the expected subjects. Some courses require just one sitting(WAEC passed once) while some accepts merging of two different ordinary level result as well as acquiring a good score in JAMB and POST-UTME(the entrance examination set by the school) as every school as its cut off points, making mostly medical and law courses have the highest cut off points.  1. ART DEPARTMENT.     For the arts, subjects like English Language, Mathematics, Arts and Crafts, Literature, Music, Economics and Christian Religious Knowledge/Islamic Religious Knowledge are involved, these subjects are the guide against writing WAEC, picking a course of ...

LIFE OF A LECTURER IN NIGERIA

Lecturers are human too and they feel whatsoever the students feel. Before becoming a lecturer, they must have gone through the stress and pangs of being a student. It is like a tiresome cycle, being a student to being a lecturer that takes care of students and visiting the classrooms for as long as they would be in service. It can be said that lecturers read more than students. A lecturer is someone that must have gone through the four walls of the school, acquired a degree or degrees (he or she could have gone further for masters or PhD) and works or teaches in the institution be it a university, polytechnic or college of education. Not everyone is qualified to be a lecturer as it entails a lot of criterias like having an extremely excellent grade, smartness and most of all discipline.   How then does a lecturer create time for other things. There are some factors one could easily observe in a lecturer's attitude.  1. ORGANISE...

PROCESSING INFORMATION IN NIGERIA INSTITUTION

For every external examination, you must ensure to apply very early. Getting to the hall before the commencement of the exam, instructions would be made and majority of times, students fail to pay instructions causing them to be penalized.     It happens a lot in the university system as well, the adrenaline students possess is enough to run round a fiel track; disobedience is one of the adrenaline. Truly, there are some instructions that are very difficult to obey but very necessary. Paying attention in class is one of the adrenaline as well; it is not easy sitting for hours to listen to one boring lecture. It is very common to see students yawn in class, tiredness is no big deal. When factors affect the mental state of students, it proves to be a challenge when it comes to processing some information given out. For an easy assimilation of information, there are conditions in which it can be passed and received well by students.  1....

INNOVATIONS DONE BY STUDENTS IN NIGERIA.

Nigerian students are so creative. We have students in primary schools already constructing mobile machines with little resources, it is really amazing how much effort is put into something that benefits all. Students possess unfathomable potentials.  The northern part of Nigeria is majorly the ignorant part of the country and the little percent of students that are serious in education have been able to produce meaningful inventions as recorded sometime in 2019 where young boys developed a method on how to create effects in movies as well as the invention of moving objects.     Physics is one subject that broadens the mindset, it is very particular in details. The rise to technological advancement is because of the hardwork invested on the knowledge gotten from classrooms and the surroundings. Aside the fact that students go out of their way as little as 15years of age to learn under a boss, to learn how to repair automobiles is overwhelming. We have them in ...

THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE WRITING WAEC AND JAMB IN NIGERIA

There are many factors involved in passing JAMB. Factors like the choice of institution, course of study, the tuition fee to mention a few. It determines the admission into the institution unlike the WAEC result that can be used in any West African country, the JAMB result can only be used in Nigeria. We have other independent bodies that do not use JAMB like the Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB) that deals with only your capability for one year and sets an examination that takes you straight to 200 level in the university of your choice when you pass it. There's also a program called Pre-degree, as the name implies, it's a one year program that trains students in preparation of what to see and meet in the university, after the one year teachings, examination would be conducted and students would be asked to write JAMB. The addition of their JAMB score and pre-degree score with plenty of processes along the way would determine if students are qualified f...

HOW TO SUCCESSFULLY PASS WAEC AND JAMB IN NIGERIA

The West African Examination Council (WAEC) and Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB) are bodies in the educational sector that forsees the affairs of procurement of gaining admission. The examinations might appear to be tough because there are cases when students write them more than once. If you choose a course and do not meet the criteria (waec is also known as o'level, it consists of different subjects that aligns with your course), you would have no choice than to sit for the exam again till you pass all subjects required. There are courses that requires only one sitting (you must pass all the subjects at once) while some can do with two sittings (you can merge two results of different year or different examination bodies like NECO).              Jamb can prove to be very tough as well as it requires you passing a particular score or cut off mark(as it is popularly known), thereby, making students write the...

HOW TO CONTROL MOOD SWINGS WHILE IN SCHOOL IN NIGERIA

There are good days and bad days as well. The days you would be happy for no reason and vice versa. It is quite normal for students to have mood swings because it's not easy trying to master all the courses and still keep a firm grade. You could feel like screaming, it's very expected because the system is quite stressful, making you exceed your limit and going to extra miles to fulfill the desired result.    Ignorance is more expensive than education, hence, it should be a drive for prosperity. Thinking about failure alone is exhausting but the thoughts of being ignorant is fearful. It takes a lot to finish strong and when running the last lap of your years in school, the final year, there's this relaxation that comes with it.  DEALING WITH MOOD SWINGS.    It's necessary for you to know how to handle mood swings so it won't take the better use of you in the future. It is quite confusing to understand what you feel at times due to stress and pr...

All YOU NEEDED TO BE THE BEST IN NIGERIA SCHOOLS

We have 7 days in a week and out of the 7 days, school demands 5 days from students. From nurturing talents, be it writing, singing, photography, etc., to keeping up to timetables can be a pain in the neck.     It is very common in an institution for students to have carryovers, carryovers are courses that students failed in the previous semester(we have 2 semesters in a session) and are entitled to sit for in the next session. Of course, there'd be a clash of activities. With so much preparations for examination, the pain of seeing carryovers make students act rashly, some would cry and some could go to the extreme by commiting suicide. It is well known that tension is one of the thing every student would feel immediately result is being pasted but that doesn't stop the enjoyment that comes with writing the last paper of the examination period.    Looking at it from the perspective of talents, you could tell that there wouldn't be enough time to nu...
