HOW TO FINISH BEST IN YOUR FINAL YEAR IN NIGERIA SCHOOL

FINAL YEAR WAHALA.

Every final lap seems refreshing but is very delicate due to the fact that any slight increase or decrease could change the course of your degree. The ecstasy of being close to convocation as well as the fear of failing in the last minute of your race in school is one feeling every student would experience. The adrenaline of getting to the anchor leg of one's first degree. The ecstasy of leaving school in a number of months. An institution characterized by a roller coaster of emotions, perseverance, resilience, tears, laughter, goosebumps and sadness. There is no joy that can be compared to that feeling of leaving school in a number of months. Like a Banker, at the pinnacle of his career or a soldier at the highest hierarchy of his career. That feeling of accomplishment, success is one that pervades the life of a typical final year student.

The final year can be the best year in the academical career of a student as well as the worst year. As in a relay race, the anchor leg is usually raced by the fastest runner, same applies to the final year. It should be one's most serious academic year because it could be fun and at the same time challenging. Therefore, the student must be heavily armed for the task ahead of them. From writing of various assignments to test, examinations and the most important of them all, project proposal, writing and presentation. The final year could see a student graduate or given an extra year depending on the student's result for the session. It's a year where errors won't be entertained as a little mistake can cost a student an extra year.

The final year is very demanding and full of so many hurdles. Good preparation they say prevent failure. Therefore, it is of huge importance that it should not be treated with kid's gloves. The following will be very useful in overcoming these obstacles

1.THE GOD FACTOR.

In as much as you think you are almost done with school, remember you started with God and end with Him. The supremacy of God over all things cannot be over emphasized. Put God in all you do and pray for direction.

2. AVOID SKIPPING CLASSES.

Classes are very important at this level of any student's academical career. Classes make up test, assignments and subsequently examinations. It is pertinent that any student that wants to get the best grades at this level should not miss classes.

3. HAVE A WORKING READING TIME TABLE

At this point, it is advisable that students at this level design for themselves a working reading timetable that should be followed religiously. Good grades are sacrosanct and they are developed in the reading room. Furthermore, study groups is one other important thing. It gives you the opportunity to have a round table discussion with your colleagues and help one another out with difficult task.

Your final year should be as strong as your first year.

Activities like football competitions, pre matric parties, quiz competitions, valentine specials are done semester by semester.     Some students are introverts, they do not associate themselves with such things but there is every need to relax your muscles after a stressful semsester. It doesn't mean you are less serious with your studies but it means you can balance your mental and physical lifestyle.     Other activities like elections(SUG's) is another essential activity to partake in, for any student to be elected, he or she must have a good grade, that means, even while having fun, studies and seriousness has a major role. Social activities enhances the psychological health most imp...

HOW TO GET BEST PROJECTS AND DEFENSE IN TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS.

Classes upon classes, tutorials upon tutorials and finally, you would reach a stage where a project would be introduced. A project is a research given to students by their supervisors concerning their fields of study. It is a compulsory credit unit course for all intending graduating students. Project topics, depending on the department are mostly developed during the students internship, in other cases, the project supervisor suggests or recommends a topic to their student. While in a fewer cases, the topic could be the student's idea right from their first year in school.  The idea of projects is to test the student's readiness to solving real life and industry based problems. This is done by collating data about the project, juxtaposition of facts and figures, identifying problems and proferring solution. Offering possible recommendations where necessary. In other ways, students make research to solve industry based problems. The project starts when a supervisor assign a top...
