DUTIES OF CLASS LEADERS - CLASS REPRESENTATIVES AND GROUP LEADERS.

Kudos to the class representatives and group leaders of every department. For every gathering, there must be a leader and every crew must have a captain. Class reps as they are popularly called are angels in disguise, they carry the weight of everyone on their head by being responsible for the affairs that concerns their academic stay in the school. They are practically the leaders of the class.

DUTIES OF THE CLASS REPRESENTATIVES.

In every school setting, from the pre-primary to the university/polytechnic level, class representatives are the individuals (the main rep and the assistant) that carries the class along in everything and relays information from higher authorities to their fellow mates. They are the bridge that connects the affairs of the students and the school management.

1. INFORMATION SHARING.

Being the bridge between students and the management, the class reps or course reps(in the university/polytechnic setting) distributes and passes information using all mediums, be it physical or through the internet - social media. It is very common to see group chats for each department in the school, this is the work of class reps to aid in distributing information.

2. WELFARISM.

They are responsible for every member of the class in the sense that whenever a member is sick or down, they try their possible best to reach out. In cases where lecturers seem to have issues with the class, they put themselves in the position to resolving the issue.

GROUP LEADERS.

Every lecturer with his or her style, especially during practicals where students would be divided into groups and for each group, a leader would be appointed to forsee that every member understands by making sure they are all carried along in the activities.

DUTIES OF THE GROUP LEADERS.

The duties of the group leaders are not as cumbersome as that if the course reps.

1. They are to ensure everyone is present during the class/practicals.

2. The provision of the basic materials needed for any experiment.

3. They are responsible for the welfare of their members, it is quite easy as the members wouldn't be as much as the whole class.

4. They are meant to carry everyone along.

It is important to respect leaders and it is no easy job organizing and leading students because of the different personality clashes that might ignite. Everyone can't be matured enough to obey instructions but the university is in such a way that obedience is vital for every step. It is a very stressful job handling the affairs of students, no doubt and the least you should do is to always be of your best behaviour towards your leaders and if possible, get them things to appreciate them for their hardwork. Class reps are elected by the students, so as the student, make sure to help them do their work by not causing a nuisance to the class and the university/polytechnic as a whole.

HOW TO REDUCE THE SOCIAL LIFE IN THE ACADEMIC SETTING

"All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy", this statement is very true. This is where the Students' Union Government, SUG comes in; in the government, we have different offices like the the welfare director, sport director, social director to mention a few. Activities like football competitions, pre matric parties, quiz competitions, valentine specials are done semester by semester.     Some students are introverts, they do not associate themselves with such things but there is every need to relax your muscles after a stressful semsester. It doesn't mean you are less serious with your studies but it means you can balance your mental and physical lifestyle.     Other activities like elections(SUG's) is another essential activity to partake in, for any student to be elected, he or she must have a good grade, that means, even while having fun, studies and seriousness has a major role. Social activities enhances the psychological health most imp...

HOW TO GET BEST PROJECTS AND DEFENSE IN TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS.

Classes upon classes, tutorials upon tutorials and finally, you would reach a stage where a project would be introduced. A project is a research given to students by their supervisors concerning their fields of study. It is a compulsory credit unit course for all intending graduating students. Project topics, depending on the department are mostly developed during the students internship, in other cases, the project supervisor suggests or recommends a topic to their student. While in a fewer cases, the topic could be the student's idea right from their first year in school.  The idea of projects is to test the student's readiness to solving real life and industry based problems. This is done by collating data about the project, juxtaposition of facts and figures, identifying problems and proferring solution. Offering possible recommendations where necessary. In other ways, students make research to solve industry based problems. The project starts when a supervisor assign a top...
