All YOU NEEDED TO BE THE BEST IN NIGERIA SCHOOLS

We have 7 days in a week and out of the 7 days, school demands 5 days from students. From nurturing talents, be it writing, singing, photography, etc., to keeping up to timetables can be a pain in the neck.

It is very common in an institution for students to have carryovers, carryovers are courses that students failed in the previous semester(we have 2 semesters in a session) and are entitled to sit for in the next session. Of course, there'd be a clash of activities. With so much preparations for examination, the pain of seeing carryovers make students act rashly, some would cry and some could go to the extreme by commiting suicide. It is well known that tension is one of the thing every student would feel immediately result is being pasted but that doesn't stop the enjoyment that comes with writing the last paper of the examination period.

Looking at it from the perspective of talents, you could tell that there wouldn't be enough time to nurture such, so organization and planning comes into play.

HOW TO BECOME A GOOD AND TALENTED STUDENT.

24 hours in a day and 168 in a week isn't enough time to juggle the timetable and talent but with proper and strict guidelines, you could achieve such. To some people, their talent is a sub career while education is their main career and to some, vice versa but nevertheless, it is essential to not forfeit one for the other as one path doesn't lead to success. How to become a good and talented student:

1. PUT GOD FIRST.

You might be very brilliant and intelligent but being spiritually agile is a necessity. You'd write an exam and expect good grades but still have a carry over. In your stay in school, attend church fellowships and always endeavor to go for Sunday services as well as let prayer be a lifestyle.

2. CREATE A SCHEDULE.

Plan your day, the classes and free periods because one cannot have classes for the whole 24 hours. Strictly abide with the schedule. During the free periods of about 2-4 hours, you can relax for 30 minutes and begin to work on your talents. If you are a writer, get a place you can derive inspirations from and make the place your hangout; visit during free time and write. If you are a singer, write songs and listen to songs; always be in line with music. A photographer, improve your skills by taking random pictures around the school and download apps that can add in editing. Most importantly, do not forget to create a time for God and a time for siestas.

3. GOOD READERS ARE LEADERS.

If you want to come out with flying colors, engage in teamwork. Yes!, you cannot do it on your own, you need like minds like you because no man is an island of knowledge. This is where reading partners come into play, associate with serious students and make sure to attend tutorials. Read ahead of the lecturers, it can be very difficult no doubt but make it a culture. Wake up 3am, read for an hour, sleep and wake up to get ready for school. Give yourself tasks and accomplish it within a short period of time because you need accuracy and speed during examination periods.

4. DO NOT ATTEND ALL PARTIES.

Focus on building yourself academically. All students are not bright, some take a longer time to comprehend things than others and parties in campuses are distractions. Serious minded students mind the kind of parties they attend, be like them. You go to a party, associate yourself with the wrong company and get introduced to drugs, crashing your academic life.

5. HAVE A PERSONAL STUDY TIMETABLE.

It boils down to the fact that lecturers give tough questions in class even with AOCs(Area of Concentrations), students still finds it hard to cope. Create a timetable, the courses that gives you a hard time should appear more on it, do not look down on any course and make sure to always have a record of past questions beside you when studying.

6. HAVE A HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR MATES AND LECTURERS

You can have a healthy relationship with your lecturers by having passion for your courses as well as being very bright in answering questions in the class. Do not for any reason become arrogant while in school, bring yourself to a lower level when wanting to acquire knowledge from your mates.

7. STAY AWAY FROM DRUGS

Drugs kill humans. If you become an addict, it takes long time to make you a better leaf because there's pleasure in drugs and human enjoys pleasure than suffering. Stay far away from drug addicts, the ones that takes it to oppress people and to prove a point that school is a scam. We all know education is essential, hence, school isn't a scam. Do not tarnish your future for temporal pleasures.

8. HAVE ROLE MODELS AND MENTORS.

It is compulsory to have role models, the people you wish to become especially in your field of study or talent and mentors, the go-to people that gives substantial advice. If at all you want to succeed, you need guides from those that already passed through the system.

9. REMEMBER YOUR ROOT, LET THAT MOTIVATE YOU.

Some students weren't born with silver spoons and if at all you were born with one, always remember your parents or guardians didn't send you to school to become a nuisance but to help you shape your dream and future and let that inspire you to become your best.

10. EAT! EAT!! EAT!!!

Do not starve yourself for the sake of intense reading. You cannot afford to get sick during test and examination periods. Ulcer is one of the major report in the school clinic, students tend to starve themselves to prove a point that they study so hard. No matter what you do during the day, have time to take care of your hygiene and diet.

HOW TO GET BEST PROJECTS AND DEFENSE IN TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS.

Classes upon classes, tutorials upon tutorials and finally, you would reach a stage where a project would be introduced. A project is a research given to students by their supervisors concerning their fields of study. It is a compulsory credit unit course for all intending graduating students. Project topics, depending on the department are mostly developed during the students internship, in other cases, the project supervisor suggests or recommends a topic to their student. While in a fewer cases, the topic could be the student's idea right from their first year in school.  The idea of projects is to test the student's readiness to solving real life and industry based problems. In other ways, students make research to solve industry based problems. The project starts when a supervisor assign a top...
