DIFFERENCES BETWEEN SCHOOL HOSTELS AND PRIVATE LODGES

Accommodation is a major factor in any school environment. The university has buildings called hostels(they may have unique names, naming could be done after professors, alumnis, etc) and hostels consist of rooms, toilets and kitchens allocated to students interested. For a student to have a room slot, he or she must pay a certain amount of money(usually cheap) to the school and it is illegal to do any sort of business concerning the room allocated with unauthorized personnels. The hostels are mainly located in the school premises or very close to campuses.

Private lodges are owned by individuals, they are buildings rented out to students outside the school premises and campuses. The actions of the landlords to the students do not in any way concern the school except it requires immediate attention. It could be a self-contained(room, parlor, toilet and kitchen), a room, flats unlike the school hostels that consists of rooms(with bunks) and general toilets and kitchens.

FACTORS TO CONSIDER IN ACQUIRING AN APARTMENT.

PRIVATE LODGES.

1. LOCATION.

It is very necessary for your apartment to be close to the school environment to ensure punctuality. Location does not just have to do with closeness to the school but how secured and safe it is, availability of water and electricity and quietness.

2. FINANCES.

Yes, the rent can be expensive because it is owned by a private handler. The price might become a challenge even if one should pay for the first year, the burden of the remaining years to spend in the school knowing fully well of other expenses might result in total disorientation of the mind. Do not start what you do not have the capacity to finish.

3. SECURITY AND ORDERLINESS.

It is essential to always keep safe, stay in a residential area even if at all you opted for the choice of a private lodge and make sure to always adhere to instructions. The area should not be overpopulated with miscreants and search for a place with strict laws and punishments for offenders.

HOSTELS.

1. POPULATION

Since it's cheaper than a private lodge, the hostel might tend to have an issue with overpopulation. Intrusion of privacy could occur since about 3 to 4 people stay in one room with high possibility of different habits like competition amongst one another, jealousy and even theft. If the room is too populated especially for introverted students, discomfort kicks in and it's something that is not advisable as it can lead to distractions.

2. LOCATION.

It is very close to school and gives the upper hand when it comes to security because of course, the school's security unit protects the environments of the school 24 hours daily.

3. INFORMATION

People in the school hostels tend to get information quickly. The impromptu events that might occur in school could have reached the ears of students in the hostel before reaching those outside despite the fact there's social media. First class informations are heard and carried within minutes in the school hostels.

The ball is in your court, make a choice to suit your reading lifestyle especially the night class goers.

HOW TO GET BEST PROJECTS AND DEFENSE IN TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS.

Classes upon classes, tutorials upon tutorials and finally, you would reach a stage where a project would be introduced. A project is a research given to students by their supervisors concerning their fields of study. It is a compulsory credit unit course for all intending graduating students. Project topics, depending on the department are mostly developed during the students internship, in other cases, the project supervisor suggests or recommends a topic to their student. While in a fewer cases, the topic could be the student's idea right from their first year in school.  The idea of projects is to test the student's readiness to solving real life and industry based problems. In other ways, students make research to solve industry based problems. The project starts when a supervisor assign a top...
