Students deserve a mighty kudos. We have several business owners in school that are students. From having restaurants to cyber cafes, the zeal to make legit money amongst students is second to none. Businesses has helped a lot in eradicating financial challenges as well as providing services and commodities to the school environment. The ability to own a business and run it so well despite the days of losses is highly commendable.
1. SELF EMPLOYED STUDENTS.
We have students that are self employed. Students that uses their talents to make a living irrespective of their tight schedule. We have businesses like shoe making, bakery, online market, photography, etc. This has made the school community productive as it enhances the drive to make money and make other students feel obliged to own a business. One of the benefits of this kind of business is that you can decide what to do and when to do it without any dictation from anyone making you have freewill over any of your activities.
2. PART-TIME JOBS.
Some students go out of their ways to make ends meet. We have plenty of such students in the school environment. They work during their free time and holidays as well as weekends. It’s a very stressful thing to do but hard-work is very paramount.
There are plenty businesses to venture into, we have forex traders, crypto traders, barbers, etc., there are some students that would like to have a business but do not know how to go about as well as strategies to imply. How then do you start a business:
1. HAVE CAPITAL.
It is very essential to have savings, save money that would be enough to start a business. It is quite advisable to have more than just the start-up money. You need to discipline yourself on the way you spend so as to accumulate more than enough money to start a business. Your capital would determine the kind of business to venture into. Do not expect huge profit when starting because Rome wasn’t built in a day and everything requires time, processes and good management.
2. THE COMMON NEEDS OF THE SOCIETY.
It will be very awkward to operate a car wash business in school. Think about the needs and wants of the students before venturing into any business. Sell products or services that you know students cannot do without, like a daily need. A restaurant is a perfect example of a good business and if at all you want to operate a clothing line of business, make your products so cheap that you would have no stress in acquiring customers.
3. HAVE A PLAN.
If you do not plan, you plan to fail. Have a plan, get a book and analyze your profit and loss at the end of every research before starting a business. Be so detailed in everything you would do as it helps a lot in having a solid foundation. In your plan, make sure to look out for the best location around the school premises to mount your business. You might have a plan that would not work well, relax and make enquiries.
4. MAKE BUSINESS-MINDED FRIENDS.
Make friends that are into businesses. A business like mini-importation (a business that deals with buying goods from another country and shipping it to your country to sell) requires legit connections because we have different suppliers worldwide and it would not be nice to fall into the wrong hands. That is why it is essential to have friends that would link u up and guide you along the way.
5. POSSESS GOOD ATTITUDE.
Good attitude goes a long way because of customer service relations. All customers are not same and some can be frustrating. Aside the challenge of losses in a business, customers too might prove to be challenging and it takes a cool headed person to deal with such. Be humble no matter what may happen. You do not want to lose customers even if they are not always right, learn to keep your anger in check and deal with their tantrums.
