The West African Examination Council (WAEC) and Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB) are bodies in the educational sector that forsees the affairs of procurement of gaining admission. The examinations might appear to be tough because there are cases when students write them more than once. If you choose a course and do not meet the criteria (waec is also known as o'level, it consists of different subjects that aligns with your course), you would have no choice than to sit for the exam again till you pass all subjects required. There are courses that requires only one sitting (you must pass all the subjects at once) while some can do with two sittings (you can merge two results of different year or different examination bodies like NECO).
Jamb can prove to be very tough as well as it requires you passing a particular score or cut off mark(as it is popularly known), thereby, making students write the exam more than once. Courses in the medical field requires the highest jamb score proving it to be very challenging to secure admission.
How then can one pass with ease?
1. SERIOUSNESS.
It is advisable to start writing WAEC private known as GCE(it is for private candidates, for people that are not in secondary school as WAEC is solely for students in SS3, that is, the final year in the secondary school sector) in SS2 so as to sharpen the mind. Do not get to SS3 before you choose to be serious, seriousness should start from your day one in the school system. Read further, go to the extra mile so as to avoid failure.
2. ATTEND TUTORIALS.
Your class lectures are not enough to handle the pressure because examinations would not only test your intelligence and brilliance but your speed and articulation. Attend lessons or tutorials.
3. BE SECRETIVE ABOUT YOUR MOVES.
We all have friends that do not support the education dream and always calling school a scam. Do not share your moves and thoughts with such friends as they can always plant seeds of doubts and unseriousness in you. Only your parents/guardians should be aware. Be very careful about friends.
4. HAVE A PLAN.
If you do not plan, you are planning to fail. Ordinary level (O'level) also known as WAEC can be very tricky. If you are writing GCE, there's a huge probability that you would do lesser amount of subjects but the SS3 WAEC can prove otherwise as practicals would hold and invigilation would be strict. Program yourself before the exam in a way that you can cope without anyone's help.
5. ERADICATE FEAR.
Yes, eradicate fear because it's an external examination and no one is familiar plus the tensed atmosphere and pressure. Be bold and diligent, answer questions with ease and confidence. Please and please, do not stick to one question for a long time, leave the ones you don't know and answers the known ones because time runs faster than you think.
