PROCESSING INFORMATION IN NIGERIA INSTITUTION

For every external examination, you must ensure to apply very early. Getting to the hall before the commencement of the exam, instructions would be made and majority of times, students fail to pay instructions causing them to be penalized.

It happens a lot in the university system as well, the adrenaline students possess is enough to run round a fiel track; disobedience is one of the adrenaline. Truly, there are some instructions that are very difficult to obey but very necessary. Paying attention in class is one of the adrenaline as well; it is not easy sitting for hours to listen to one boring lecture. It is very common to see students yawn in class, tiredness is no big deal. When factors affect the mental state of students, it proves to be a challenge when it comes to processing some information given out. For an easy assimilation of information, there are conditions in which it can be passed and received well by students.

1. DECORUM.

Decorum means appropriate social behavior, etiquette, decency and courtesy and as it is known, courtesy demands respect. Every class must possess the quality of decorum, quietness and ready for quick assimilation of information. If a classroom is as noisy as a market square, it is considered an insult to the lecturer because the fact that a lecturer is in class, everyone must respect him or her and keep silent making it easier for him to pass the necessary information. Some lecturers are big fans of good social behaviour and might withhold some vital information needed due to the unseriousness and disrespect given to him by the students.

2. VIGILANT IN CLASS.

It takes a lot of mind control to focus and process information. Processing information does not just mean the ability to grab every word the lecturer says but the ability to understand and utilize it in the right manner. There are informations passed not as information but as jokes; every lecturer with his style. A lecturer might be joking in the class but the same time, passing crucial and essential information. It is only the vigilant students that would not be carried away by his jokes but be quick in analyzing everything he says during the time he would be joking. Always be vigilant in class and everywhere you go.

3. ALWAYS HAVE A NOTE PAD WITH YOU.

Some students go to school with an empty bag. Bags are the latest fashion in school nowadays, different style for different personalities. Students are so unserious nowadays that the only thing you see in their bags are phone chargers. Some attend classes just to charge phones, sleep, sign attendance and even gist with friends. Taking big books to school nowadays is just so difficult unlike a decade ago when such trend was in vogue. Have a jotter with you to write certain information because there are times you would think going home and settling down for minutes would make you remember everything you must have heard during the day but the mental stress involved in sitting for hours and listening to more than one lecturer teach is enough to make one forget most of the things taught. It is advisable to always have a note pad to jot down information as well as ideas.

4. RESEARCH.

No matter the level you reach, always bow to knowledge because knowledge is power. If you grab an information, seek for more backing up. Read and make researches because you might never know, a research might be all you need to clearly understand whatever information passed. Some information might need to be deciphered or decrypted because they might be encrypted in such a way that only a thorough research is needed. Do not take every information to be true until it is proven to be. Get a back up for every thing you hear, you might never know when a lecturer makes a mistake and unknowingly gives the wrong information out.

5. BE VAST.

Know little of everything, know more of everything in your choice of field. Kill ignorance by being ready to grab information; be versatile and do not just stay stagnant in a place but have a very flexible mindset about things. Processing information could prove to be difficult because majority of information passed might sound new and strange to you but if you are the type that is so ready to assimilate and is so vast in knowledge, even when such information is passed, you would have at least an idea on how it is without waiting for anyone to explain

6. ASK QUESTIONS.

If you do not understand anything, like anything at all, ask questions. You learn everyday and it is your right to ask and verify any information passed to you. Do not be a timid student because there would be cases when students are already stressed in class and wants the lecturer to leave and this is when the lecturer starts giving information, such a situation could make students very pissed at anyone that raises his or her hand to ask questions. This is where confidence comes into play. Be bold enough to stand and ask reasonable questions. The only thing that can eradicate ignorance is an open mind to both new and old things and the desire to know more. Passion is essential as well, if there's enough passion fuel in you, your course would prove to be easy and interesting, making little information look like a mountain.

Always endeavor to understand things, it is not advisable to cram but very advisable to understand details on your terms.
