EDUCATION IN A DIFFERENT LIGHT IN NIGERIA.

Schooling is very demanding and sometimes, the factors that come with me are not favorable. Nigeria is a country where the minimum wage is pegged at the sum of thirty thousand naira and little or no school have their tuition pegged around this amount. Most tertiary institutions if not all have tuition fees above the minimum wage.    It is therefore worthy to note that not everybody can afford education safe for those who earn well above the minimum wage. Some parents struggle to see their ward through the tertiary institutions despite the fact that most available institutions which are government owned have subsidized tuition, it is still very difficult for a class of persons to afford the cost of going to school. Some persons who fall into this category are orphans, those whose parents are unemployed or artisans and in a few cases government workers.    Besides the cost of tuition, another hurdle is the cost of feeding, hostel accommodation and stationery. Ma...

Environmental pollution is a perennial problem to man. The culture of having to dispose waste properly in such a way that it is less or not harmful to the society is a practice that have really come a long way. However, over time disposing of waste, both organic and inorganic in one way or the other pose threat to man’s existence as non biodegradable waste such as plastic, glass, metal, tires, textile, batteries, electronics and paper do not decompose but remain in their physical form and pose huge threat of pollution to both land and aquatic habitats.         Hence, the idea of recycling was introduced. Recycling is the collection of already used component materials for break down and reuse. Recycling starts with the proper collection of the waste. Most times, the waste are collected in separate bins or packages. For example plastic waste are collected differently from paper waste and in other cases were they are collected together, t...

BUSINESSES IN NIGERIA SCHOOL AS A STUDENT

Students deserve a mighty kudos. We have several business owners in school that are students. From having restaurants to cyber cafes, the zeal to make legit money amongst students is second to none. Businesses has helped a lot in eradicating financial challenges as well as providing services and commodities to the school environment. The ability to own a business and run it so well despite the days of losses is highly commendable. 1. SELF EMPLOYED STUDENTS.    We have students that are self employed. Students that uses their talents to make a living irrespective of their tight schedule. We have businesses like shoe making, bakery, online market, photography, etc. This has made the school community productive as it enhances the drive to make money and make other students feel obliged to own a business. LIFE OF A LECTURER IN NIGERIA

Lecturers are human too and they feel whatsoever the students feel. Before becoming a lecturer, they must have gone through the stress and pangs of being a student. It is like a tiresome cycle, being a student to being a lecturer that takes care of students and visiting the classrooms for as long as they would be in service. It can be said that lecturers read more than students. A lecturer is someone that must have gone through the four walls of the school, acquired a degree or degrees (he or she could have gone further for masters or PhD) and works or teaches in the institution be it a university, polytechnic or college of education. Not everyone is qualified to be a lecturer as it entails a lot of criterias like having an extremely excellent grade, smartness and most of all discipline.   How then does a lecturer create time for other things. There are some factors one could easily observe in a lecturer's attitude.  1. ORGANISE...

PROCESSING INFORMATION IN NIGERIA INSTITUTION

For every external examination, you must ensure to apply very early. Getting to the hall before the commencement of the exam, instructions would be made and majority of times, students fail to pay instructions causing them to be penalized.     It happens a lot in the university system as well, the adrenaline students possess is enough to run round a fiel track; disobedience is one of the adrenaline. Truly, there are some instructions that are very difficult to obey but very necessary. Paying attention in class is one of the adrenaline as well; it is not easy sitting for hours to listen to one boring lecture. It is very common to see students yawn in class, tiredness is no big deal. When factors affect the mental state of students, it proves to be a challenge when it comes to processing some information given out. For an easy assimilation of information, there are conditions in which it can be passed and received well by students.  1....
