 There are many factors involved in passing JAMB. Factors like the choice of institution, course of study, the tuition fee to mention a few. It determines the admission into the institution unlike the WAEC result that can be used in any West African country, the JAMB result can only be used in Nigeria.    We have 7 days in a week and out of the 7 days, school demands 5 days from students. From nurturing talents, be it writing, singing, photography, etc., to keeping up to timetables can be a pain in the neck.     It is very common in an institution for students to have carryovers, carryovers are courses that students failed in the previous semester(we have 2 semesters in a session) and are entitled to sit for in the next session.
